Role in BioSFerA

In the framework of BioSFerA, RINA is mainly responsible for the sustainability (techno-economic, environmental, social) and Health & Safety issues related to the project innovation, which means performing an assessment of the BioSFerA concept from an environmental, economic and social point of view and performing a techno-economic assessment of the proposed processes aimed at quantifying the expected economic profitability of the demonstrated processes, followed by a sensitivity analysis on key economic variables. Moreover, RINA will make a preliminary market study and definition of the measures and strategies towards the standardization of the products and processes developed along the project and will conducti all the necessary health & safety studies, aiming to substantiate possible risks during the upscaling of the processes and proposing mitigation plans. Finally, RINA is also in charge of the development of the replication guidelines from a market and regulation/HSE perspective
